I remember those days. Black dyes were around 20k each as well.

As for the runes, you're not going to notice 9hp in PvE most of the time. If you have disposable income, go for it. If not, there's no real rush for one.

If you have the armor you intend to keep for the rest of the game, and you are bursting with cash, you might as well get the sup. Otherwise, just wait until you get your final armor and settle for the cheaper rune.

9hp does make a difference, but so does 13k. If you plan to spend your money on other things, you'll be kicking yourself for spending the money on 9hp that could have gone into, let's say, skills or weapon mods.

And I already promise that skills or weapon mods are going to make a bigger difference to your character than 9hp

As the other have said, it doesn't matter that much at all in pve and i personally think its not that bug of deal in pvp. But every little helps I suppose . . . . . . .

Before prices went obscure, I gave my characters Major Vigor and my heroes Minor Vigor. Thank goodness I don't bother trying to buy Minor Vigor anymore.

Superior Vigor is just not worth it unless you really want 9 extra HP.

Sup Vigors and Sup Abses used to be the ultimate tome of richness (well runewise). Sup Vigors are still fairly pricey, IMO a weapon modifier/survivor insignia is a better alternative, just sell the sup vigors.

Most people are lucky to see 2 drop in all their time gaming.. Where you play doesn't make a difference.

I say it's worth it, because money is unimportant. It makes your character stronger, therefore you should try to get it unconditionally. In Guild Wars, there's only one max, one perfection, so you can't get that extra health any other way.

Functionality over looks imo here ... will be weird if you see someone in fow armor but too stingy to spend on a sup vigor rune.

If price is a problem, probably try to farm the rune or settle for a major till you can afford one I remember back then, sup vigors were like 75k, and that is one good reason to consider major vs sup vigor.
I remember Superior Absorption at 100k...

But for PvE the 9 health really won't make a difference. In PvP you want all the advantages you can get.

So true. Only one ever dropped for me in my 2 years of GW playing, and it was from Ettin rune farming, which is now nerfed.

For PvP though, considering it's costless, extra health is always good.

sup vigor imo is only worth it if you're putting it on elite armor.

i know that i will be always kicking myself over this

in the final days of ettin farming i found two sup vigors and a sup absorption, i used the absoption on my war for farming and sold the vigors
at that point the absorptions were still worth 70k, but by the next week they were 5k i was royaly defeated, plus, they nerfed the ettins at that point

in any case i say that once youve got the cash sup vigors are worth it because every hit point helps

after almost 3 years of playing this game I still dont have a character with a sup vigor rune--used! I have one that has one in a backpack, but never applied it to anything. No need
So save the cash from something else and just go with the major (unless you get a nice drop then I would use it, unlike me who still doesnt know what to do with the one I have).

QFT. If your just doing pve you can just use a minor vigor or not even you one at all and it won't penalize you too much.

Pvp on the other hand.... the 50 hp is pretty important to stay alive.

drey2k: You can still like non-elite armors :P

Just yesterday... yesterday... in RA I dropped down to 1 health with a Sup Vigor on. Kited, used res on a teammate, slapped Restful Breeze on and regenerated, and ended up winning the match.

Every little bit counts. Though admittedly, I hadn't had one until I decided it was finally time just recently.

if you're buying those Sephis Axes, Magma Shields and 15k armors than by all means buy Superior Vigor as it will help and you dont lack the money.
however if you do lack the money than save anywhere you can and get a Major(if any)
PvP Wise it's a must however, at least if you're serious about PvP

I bought one from the merchant for 75k, way back when.

Then a week later, prices crashed hard.
